A comprehensive new patient exam including X-rays, cleaning, and doctor exam typically takes 75 to 90 minutes. If you are coming in for a specific concern or dental emergency and we defer the cleaning to a separate visit, plan on 45 to 60 minutes. We will give you a time estimate when you call to schedule.

Absolutely. Dental anxiety is one of the most common reasons people avoid the dentist, and we take it seriously. Dr. Dawson is board-certified in Oral Conscious Sedation and our team is trained to work at your pace. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation (with a board-certified anesthesiologist), and general anesthesia. Please mention anxiety when you call so we can plan your appointment accordingly.

Yes. SmileScience Dental Spa sees patients of all ages. We can schedule your whole family and, in many cases, coordinate same-day appointments to reduce trips to the office. Just mention that you are scheduling for multiple family members when you call.

We also accept most PPO plans as an out-of-network provider and file all claims on your behalf. Call us with your insurance ID and we will verify your coverage before you come in.

Our in-house SmileScience Membership Plan covers two exams, two cleanings, full X-rays, and 15% off all other treatments for one flat annual fee, with no deductibles, waiting periods, or annual maximums. We also offer CareCredit, Cherry Financing, and 0% interest payment plans on approved credit.

Yes, and we encourage it. Completing your medical and dental history, HIPAA acknowledgment, and insurance authorization online before your appointment allows your hygienist to review your information before you arrive. If you prefer to fill out forms in-office, arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

You see everything on a monitor in your operatory before your doctor discusses any findings. No goop trays needed for impressions.

Yes. Nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation are both available for routine cleanings and exams, not just surgical procedures. If dental anxiety makes routine care difficult, mention it when you schedule and we will set up the appropriate appointment type. IV sedation and general anesthesia are reserved for surgical and complex restorative cases.
