Understanding Your Options

What Is Full Mouth Rehabilitation?

Full mouth rehabilitation is a comprehensive treatment plan that restores function, comfort, and appearance to a mouth that needs more than a single procedure can address. It coordinates multiple treatments, sequenced in the clinically correct order, so every piece of your care builds on the one before it.

This is not the same as cosmetic dentistry, though the final result can be cosmetically transformative. The goal first is a healthy, functional bite. Aesthetics are built on top of that foundation.

People come to us after years of patchwork repairs that never fully worked, after trauma or serious illness, after years away from the dentist and not knowing where to start. There is no judgment here. We start where you are and build a plan from there.

  • Dental implants to replace missing teeth, including All-on-4 and All-on-X full-arch options
  • Zirconia crowns and full-arch prostheses on implants or natural teeth
  • Extractions of failing or damaged teeth that cannot be saved
  • Bone grafting when needed to support implants
  • Periodontal treatment including scaling, root planing, or surgical gum therapy
  • Veneers or composite on natural teeth being retained in the final smile
  • Orthodontic alignment when needed before final restorations are placed
Is This Right for You?

If Any of These Sound Familiar, We Should Talk

You don’t need to have the answers before you come in. That is what the evaluation is for.

Multiple missing or broken teeth that make eating, speaking, or smiling difficult
Pain or sensitivity when biting and chewing that has lasted more than a few weeks
Embarrassment or self-consciousness about your smile affecting your confidence
Dentures that slip, don’t fit, or feel unstable while eating or talking
Old crowns, bridges, or dental work that is cracking, falling out, or no longer fitting
You haven’t been to a dentist in years and don’t know where or how to start
Severely worn teeth from grinding (bruxism) or acid erosion affecting your bite height
Dental anxiety that has kept you from getting care, and you need sedation to feel safe

What Goes Into It

What Full Mouth Rehabilitation May Include

Every plan is built from scratch based on your specific anatomy and goals. No two rehabilitations are alike.

Dental implants for missing teeth, including All-on-4 full-arch options
Zirconia crowns and full-arch prostheses
Extractions of failing or unsalvageable teeth
Bone grafting to restore volume for implant placement
Periodontal (gum) treatment: scaling, root planing, or surgical
Bite correction and occlusal adjustment
Root canal treatment to save teeth where possible
Veneers or composite bonding on retained natural teeth
Digital smile design: your final result visualized before treatment begins
Missing Teeth

Missing Teeth? Implants Are Often Part of the Plan.

If missing teeth are part of your situation, dental implants are typically the strongest long-term solution. Implants preserve the jawbone that remains after tooth loss, prevent neighboring teeth from shifting into the gap, and support restorations that function like natural teeth.

Our surgical team has placed 4,000+ implants. Dr. Dawson focuses on implant surgery, complex extractions, and bone grafting. Dr. Turke focuses on the restorative side, designing and placing the final crowns, arches, and prosthetics. Because both are in-house, your rehabilitation stays seamlessly coordinated from surgical placement through final restoration.

For patients who need a full arch replaced, All-on-4 uses four strategically placed implants to support a fixed set of teeth, often placed and loaded the same day as surgery.

Full-Arch Option
All-On-4: Fixed Teeth in a Day

For patients with extensive tooth loss or who need a full arch extracted and replaced, All-on-4 is often the most efficient and permanent path. Four implants support a full fixed arch, with temporary teeth placed the same day as surgery.

From $12,500/arch for qualifying patients (adequate bone, favorable anatomy, existing full denture with no remaining teeth). Complete cases from $15,999 all-inclusive: implants, final zirconia arch, and 10-year limited implant guarantee. Free 3D scan confirms your tier.

Our Approach

How We Rebuild Your Mouth from the Ground Up

Two doctors, one coordinated plan. Surgical and restorative care do not happen in separate offices with separate plans. They happen here, together, from the first scan to the final polish.

  1. We perform a full clinical examination using 3D cone beam CT imaging, digital impressions, and bite analysis. This gives us a precise picture of your bone volume, existing structure, nerve positions, and the realistic prognosis for each tooth. Nothing is assumed. Everything is measured. The 3D scan is free at your consultation.

Comprehensive Exam & Free 3D Scan

  2. Digital Treatment Plan

Before any treatment is scheduled, Dr. Turke uses digital smile design software to show you what your finished result can look like. You approve the aesthetic and functional outcome first. The full plan is itemized with costs at every phase -- no surprises mid-rehabilitation.

  3. Dr. Dawson leads implant surgery, complex extractions, and bone grafting. This phase establishes the structural foundation for everything that follows. Extractions are completed, healing time is respected, and implants are placed only when the site is prepared correctly.

    Surgical Phase

  4. Restorative Phase

Dr. Turke focuses on crowns, veneers, final prosthetics, and smile design. For single crowns on natural teeth, we mill full-strength zirconia in-office from digital scan to permanent placement in one appointment. This phase transforms the functional foundation into the smile you came in for.

Real Patient Results

Full mouth rehabilitation transforms more than a smile. These are real patients treated at our Glendale office.

Our Guarantees

We Stand Behind Our Work

Implant Fixture
10-Year Limited Implant Guarantee

If your implant fails to osseointegrate within 10 years, we replace the implant fixture. Coverage requires documented professional maintenance at minimum annually; outside-office maintenance is acceptable if documented. Full written terms reviewed before treatment. Not covered: anesthesia or sedation fees for replacement procedures, grafting unless specifically required for the covered failure and stated in written agreement, or damage from trauma or missed maintenance.

Zirconia Restoration
5-Year Prosthetic Warranty

Your final restoration (zirconia arch, crown, or hybrid) is warranted for 5 years against defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and accidental damage are not covered. Coverage requires the same documented professional maintenance as the implant fixture guarantee.

Both warranties require documented professional maintenance at minimum annually. Full written warranty terms are reviewed with you before treatment begins.

Comfort and Anxiety

Full Sedation Available for Every Appointment

IV sedation is available on-site, administered by a board-certified dental anesthesiologist, not a CRNA and not outsourced. If dental anxiety has kept you from getting care, or if you simply want to be completely relaxed through a longer appointment, IV sedation allows you to be comfortably unconscious for the entire procedure and wake up with no memory of the appointment.

Oral conscious sedation (OCS) is also available for patients who prefer a lighter level of relaxation. We discuss sedation options at your consultation and help you choose what is right for your situation.

For full-arch implant cases, IV sedation (general anesthesia) is $2,500 per arch for the anesthesia fee. This is separate from the implant and prosthesis cost. For other procedures, pricing is discussed at your consultation.

We use only board-certified dental anesthesiologists for GA cases, dentists with an additional residency in dental-office anesthesia management. We do not use CRNAs. Fewer than 400 board-certified dental anesthesiologists practice in the US, which is why GA scheduling is limited.

IV Sedation On-Site
Board-Certified Dental Anesthesiologist

Our in-house anesthesiologist holds dental anesthesia board certification, not just a CRNA credential. This is the same level of anesthesia oversight you would receive in a hospital setting, provided in our office.

Full-arch IV sedation: $2,500 per arch (anesthesia fee only). Other procedures: quoted at consultation.

What to Expect

Your Full-Mouth Rehabilitation Journey

  1. We capture a full 3D CBCT scan and photographic record, review your health history, and present a complete treatment map -- before a single procedure begins.

    Comprehensive Consultation & Imaging

  2. Foundational Care First

Any active gum disease, infections, or structural issues are addressed before restorative work. A healthy foundation ensures your new smile lasts decades.

  3. Extractions, bone grafts, or implant placement are completed under IV sedation or nitrous. Most patients are comfortable throughout and remember very little.

    Surgical Procedures

  4. Healing & Integration

Implants fuse to bone over 3-6 months. During this phase you wear a provisional restoration -- so you're never without teeth -- while the site matures.

  5. Once osseointegration is confirmed, your permanent crowns, bridges, or full-arch prosthesis are placed and refined to bite, aesthetics, and fit.

    Final Restorations

  6. Long-Term Maintenance

We establish a recall schedule, provide at-home care protocols, and remain your partners for the life of your new smile.

Priced by what you actually need
Every plan is itemized and approved before treatment begins

There is no standard price for full mouth rehabilitation. It depends entirely on what needs to be done, how many teeth are involved, whether implants are required, and the complexity of your anatomy. A case involving a few crowns and veneers is priced very differently from a full-arch reconstruction with implants and bone grafting.

What we can tell you: if implants are part of your case, full-arch reconstruction starts from $12,500 per arch for qualifying patients, and from $15,999 per arch all-inclusive (implants, final zirconia arch). The free 3D scan at your evaluation confirms which tier applies to you.

We provide a complete, itemized plan with every cost before any treatment is scheduled. You will know exactly what each phase costs, what it includes, and what your total investment will be. No treatment begins until you have reviewed and approved the complete plan.

Financing is available through CareCredit, Proceed Finance, Cherry, and Sunbit, including extended-term options for larger comprehensive cases.

Protecting Your Implant Long-Term: Peri-Implantitis

Dental implants do not get cavities -- but the tissue surrounding them can develop peri-implantitis, a bacterial infection that destroys the bone supporting the implant. Left untreated, peri-implantitis is the leading cause of late implant failure.

Our hygiene team monitors implant sites at every recall visit. If early peri-implantitis signs appear, we intervene before bone loss becomes significant. Learn about our periodontal treatment approach.

Independent & Doctor-Owned

Smile Science is owned entirely by Dr. Dawson and Dr. Turke -- two practicing dentists with no outside investors, no DSO involvement, and no private equity. The doctors making your treatment decisions are the same people whose names are on the practice.

Surgery is performed by Dr. Dawson or Dr. Barrett depending on your case -- not a rotating staff surgeon from a chain.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Full mouth rehabilitation is a phased process typically spanning 6 to 18 months depending on the procedures involved. Cases that include implants require a healing period of 3 to 6 months before final restorations can be placed. We map out your complete timeline at the planning appointment so you know exactly what to expect at each phase.
All-on-4 is one specific treatment within full mouth rehabilitation. It replaces an entire arch of missing teeth using four implants and a fixed zirconia prosthesis. Full mouth rehabilitation is broader and may include implants, crowns, veneers, gum treatment, bone grafting, and cosmetic finishing across both arches and natural teeth. Many patients receive All-on-4 as part of a larger comprehensive plan.
Some components may be partially covered, particularly extractions, crowns on natural teeth, and periodontal treatment. Implants and purely cosmetic procedures are typically not covered. We help you understand your benefits at your consultation and provide a full itemized plan so you can make informed financial decisions.
Yes. IV sedation is available on-site, administered by a board-certified dental anesthesiologist. For full-arch implant cases, IV sedation (general anesthesia) is $2,500 per arch for the anesthesia fee. Oral conscious sedation is also available at $350 added to your procedure cost. We discuss the right option for your comfort level at the consultation.
Bone grafting is common when tooth loss or gum disease has caused significant bone resorption. Without adequate bone volume, implants cannot be placed safely. If grafting is required, it is sequenced into your treatment plan and the timeline is adjusted to allow for proper healing. We assess your bone volume from the free 3D CBCT scan at the evaluation appointment.
Cost depends entirely on what your mouth needs. Cases limited to crowns and veneers are priced very differently from cases involving multiple implants, bone grafting, and full-arch reconstruction. For full-arch implant cases, pricing starts from $12,500 per arch for qualifying patients, and from $15,999 per arch all-inclusive. We provide a complete, itemized plan before any treatment begins. Financing is available through CareCredit, Proceed Finance, Cherry, and Sunbit.
If implants are part of your plan, we provide a 10-Year Limited Implant Guarantee: if your implant fails to osseointegrate within 10 years, we replace the implant fixture. The final zirconia restoration is covered by a 5-Year Prosthetic Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Both warranties require documented professional maintenance at minimum annually. Full written terms are reviewed before treatment begins.
No. Temporary restorations are placed at every phase to keep you functional and presentable. You will not go through an extended period without teeth. We take careful steps to ensure you have working, aesthetic temporaries throughout the rehabilitation process.

Dental insurance typically covers specific procedures within a rehabilitation plan -- such as extractions, crowns, or implants -- up to your annual maximum. The overall rehabilitation itself is rarely covered as a single line item. We provide detailed pre-authorization letters and help you maximize every eligible benefit. Cherry financing and our in-house membership plan fill the gap for uncovered portions.

The timeline depends entirely on the complexity of your case. Straightforward rehabilitations -- primarily restorative -- may be completed in 4--8 appointments over a few months. Cases involving implants, bone grafts, and healing phases typically span 9--18 months. We provide a complete treatment timeline at your first consultation so you always know exactly where you are in the process.

Absolutely -- and you're not alone. A significant portion of our full-mouth rehabilitation patients chose us specifically because of dental anxiety or past trauma. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation for every phase of treatment. Many patients complete entire appointments with no memory of the procedure at all. Your comfort is not a bonus -- it's a core part of how we practice.

Advertised prices vary significantly in what they include. Some quotes cover only implant fixtures and arch fabrication. Extractions, alveoloplasty, CBCT imaging, sedation, and provisional restorations may be billed separately, and not all “zirconia” arches use the same fabrication standard. Our pricing includes your 3D CBCT planning scan, surgical placement, standard extractions, and your final restoration. Before comparing prices, ask any provider for a written itemized list of what is and is not included.
Warranty terms vary widely between practices. Many are not provided in writing until after treatment begins. Before committing, ask to see the written warranty document: what failures are covered, what maintenance is required to keep it valid, and what happens if the practice closes or you relocate. Our 10-year fixture warranty is manufacturer-backed and our 5-year prosthetic warranty covers fit, fracture, and fabrication defects. Both are provided in writing before your first appointment.
For many patients the underlying cause is not hygiene. It is oral chemistry. Acid from reflux, diet, mouth breathing, dry mouth, or systemic conditions like diabetes continuously demineralizes enamel and attacks restorations. Individual repairs cannot solve a whole-system problem. Full-arch implants replace the variable entirely, and because complex systemic cases require more thorough pre-surgical assessment, Dr. Dawson evaluates every case with this in mind before recommending a treatment path.
No. Smile Science is 100% owned by Dr. Dawson and Dr. Turke, two practicing dentists. There are no outside investors, no private equity involvement, and no management company directing clinical decisions. Both owners practice here full time. In a DSO or corporate chain, treatment recommendations can be influenced by investor returns, production quotas, or rotating providers who do not know your history. At Smile Science, the people making your treatment decisions are the same people whose names are on the practice. They are the doctors you will see at your appointment.
