Maintenance and Regular Screening

After treatment, it is crucial to maintain long-term care of implants to ensure the longevity and health of your new smile. Regular cleanings and radiographs play a vital role in this ongoing care. These cleanings help remove plaque, tartar, and any potential buildup around the dental implants and restoration that can undermine their stability and result in surgical revisions.

Yearly radiographs are important diagnostic tools to assess the condition of your dental implants, surrounding bone, and overall oral health. These images help identify any potential issues, such as bone loss, infection, or complications with the implants or restoration. By detecting problems early on, prompt intervention and appropriate treatment can be provided to maintain the health and stability of your All-on-4 treatment.

In addition to regular cleanings and radiographs, it is crucial to maintain good oral hygiene practices at home. This includes brushing your teeth, flossing with super floss and using a Waterpik daily.

Smile Science Dental Spa offers long-term warranties to monitor the condition of your All-on-4 treatment and address any concerns promptly. Your dental team will create a personalized maintenance plan based on your specific needs to ensure the long-term success of your All-on-4 restoration.

By committing to regular cleanings, radiographs, and diligent oral hygiene practices, you can help ensure the health, functionality, and longevity of your All-on-4 treatment, allowing you to enjoy your restored smile for years to come.

Maintenance Plan

Implant Maintenance Plan

A convenient way to fulfill the annual maintenance requirement

The Implant Maintenance Plan does not extend or change your 10-year implant guarantee or 5-year prosthetic warranty. It is a structured, pre-paid maintenance program that makes it easier to fulfill the annual professional maintenance requirement and locks in your care pricing. What the plan includes:

Coverage Requirements

How to Maintain Your Warranty

All patients receive the same 10-Year Limited Implant Guarantee and 5-Year Prosthetic Warranty regardless of whether they enroll in the Maintenance Plan. Coverage requires:

The Implant Maintenance Plan is a convenient option for patients who want scheduled, pre-paid maintenance with locked pricing -- but it is not required to keep your warranty valid. If you see another provider for cleanings, bring documentation of each visit.

What Our Warranty Covers

Our implant warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the Phoenix metro area. Unlike standard manufacturer warranties that only cover the implant fixture itself, our in-house guarantee extends to the surrounding tissue, the prosthetic restoration, and the supporting bone structure when maintained under our plan.

  • Implant fixture: If the titanium implant post fails to osseointegrate or fractures under normal use, we replace it at no cost - including any necessary bone grafting with PRF.
  • Prosthetic restoration (hybrid/denture): Fractures, significant wear, or retention issues with the prosthesis are addressed at no additional charge during the warranty period.
  • Abutment screws: Screw replacements are included for plan members. Loose or broken screws are tightened or replaced at each maintenance visit.
  • Soft tissue revisions: Free Gingival Grafts for Keratinized Tissue augmentation are covered when clinical judgment indicates they are needed to protect implant longevity.
  • Emergency visits: Unscheduled appointments related to a covered implant are seen promptly and evaluated at no additional charge during the warranty period.

Coverage applies when the patient has maintained documented professional maintenance at minimum annually and is in compliance with the written Oral Hygiene Instructions provided at the time of treatment. Enrollment in the Implant Maintenance Plan is one way to meet this requirement but is not the only way. Damage caused by trauma, failure to maintain documentation of professional maintenance, or use of the implant outside of clinical recommendations is not covered.

Step-by-Step Process

How to Use Your Warranty

Using your warranty is straightforward. The process is designed to be simple so that getting help never feels like a bureaucratic hurdle. Here is exactly what to expect if you ever need to make a warranty claim.

1
Contact Our Office

Call (480) 530-3663 or submit a request online. Let us know you are calling about a warranty concern. We will schedule you for a priority evaluation appointment, typically within 1 to 2 business days.

2
Evaluation Appointment

Dr. Dawson will examine the implant site, take any necessary radiographs, and determine whether the issue falls within the scope of your warranty coverage. This evaluation is at no charge for plan members.

3
Treatment Plan Review

If a covered procedure is required, we walk you through exactly what will be done, the timeline, and any post-treatment care. You will receive a written summary of the work to be completed under warranty.

4
Covered Treatment Performed

Covered procedures are completed with the same standard of care as your original treatment. There is no deductible, co-pay, or surprise billing for services that fall within your warranty terms.

5
Follow-Up and Documentation

We schedule a follow-up to confirm healing and update your records. Your warranty timeline continues from the original start date and is not reset by a covered repair - your coverage remains intact.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for qualifying restorations, including crowns, implant restorations, and veneers placed at Smile Science. If a covered restoration fails due to a defect in our work during the warranty period, we will repair or replace it at no additional charge.
Two separate coverages apply to implant cases. Your implant fixture carries a 10-Year Limited Guarantee against osseointegration failure -- if the implant does not integrate with your bone within 10 years, we replace it. Your final restoration (zirconia arch, crown, or hybrid) is covered by a separate 5-Year Prosthetic Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Both require documented professional maintenance, minimum annually. Full terms are in your written treatment agreement.
Warranties are voided by missed follow-up appointments, failure to maintain recommended home care, trauma from injury or accidents, and use of teeth as tools (opening packages, biting nails, chewing ice). Coverage also requires that any periodontal disease present at the time of treatment be actively managed through recommended hygiene visits.
Contact our office directly at (480) 530-3663 to report a concern with a covered restoration. We will schedule an evaluation to determine whether the issue is covered under warranty. Claims are handled promptly and without requiring extensive documentation from the patient.
Our warranty applies to treatment performed at Smile Science Dental Spa in Glendale, AZ. If you relocate, we can provide your complete treatment records to a new provider. Warranty claims, however, need to be evaluated at our office. We are happy to assist in coordinating care with a referring practice in your new location if needed.
Yes. In addition to our in-office workmanship warranty, most implant manufacturers -- including those we use -- provide a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects in the implant fixture itself. This means if the implant fails due to a defect in the titanium component, the manufacturer will provide a replacement fixture at no cost.
Systemic health conditions that affect bone density or healing can influence implant integration and are considered pre-existing factors outside the scope of workmanship coverage. That said, we disclose this before treatment begins and will work with you to manage risk. If an implant placed in a well-controlled systemic condition fails without other contributing factors, we review the case individually and try to find a path forward.
Chipping or fracture of a crown or prosthesis during normal eating and function is covered during the warranty period if it results from a defect in materials or workmanship. Trauma from injury, biting hard objects (ice, pen caps, etc.), or habitual grinding without a prescribed night guard are excluded because these represent patient-side risk factors we cannot control.
Your written treatment agreement includes the start date, coverage terms, and maintenance requirements for your warranty. Call our office at (480) 530-3663 and we can pull up your file and confirm your current warranty status. We recommend keeping your original treatment documentation along with records of each annual maintenance visit.
No. Smile Science is 100% owned by Dr. Dawson and Dr. Turke, two practicing dentists. There are no outside investors, no private equity involvement, and no management company directing clinical decisions. Both owners practice here full time. In a DSO or corporate chain, treatment recommendations can be influenced by investor returns, production quotas, or rotating providers who do not know your history. At Smile Science, the people making your treatment decisions are the same people whose names are on the practice. They are the doctors you will see at your appointment.
