When All Your Teeth Are Gone -- or Should Be

Full dentures replace an entire arch of missing teeth with a natural-looking, removable prosthesis. They restore your ability to eat, speak clearly, and smile with confidence -- without surgery or implant placement. At Smile Science, Dr. Turke designs and mills your dentures using our in-house PlanMeca 60S 5-axis digital mill. That means a precise fit, a lifelike appearance, and in many cases same-day delivery.

Types of Full Dentures We Offer

Every patient's needs are different. Dr. Turke will help you choose the right option at your consultation.

Immediate Dentures

Fabricated before your remaining teeth are extracted so you leave the office with teeth the same day. A healing reline is performed once your gums stabilize.

Conventional Dentures

Made after extraction sites have fully healed, typically 8-12 weeks post-surgery. A fully healed ridge means a more stable fit from day one -- ideal for patients who want the best possible long-term result.

Implant-Supported Overdentures

Two to four implants anchor a full denture for dramatically improved stability. No adhesive needed. Best for patients who want secure chewing function and are candidates for implant placement.

Who Is a Candidate for Full Dentures?

All upper or lower teeth are missing

Full dentures replace an entire arch. If you still have healthy teeth remaining, a partial denture may be the better choice.

Teeth are severely compromised

Advanced decay, gum disease, or bone loss may make extraction and denture placement the most cost-effective long-term solution.

You want to avoid or delay implant surgery

Full dentures provide functional teeth without the healing time of implant placement. Many patients start with dentures and upgrade to implant-supported options later.

Adequate bone ridge is present

A sufficient alveolar ridge provides the suction and stability that keeps a conventional denture in place. Bone volume is assessed at your consultation.

Budget is a primary consideration

Dentures typically cost significantly less than implant-supported solutions while still restoring full function and appearance.

You want a same-day solution

Our PlanMeca 60S mill allows us to produce PMMA denture bases same-day in many cases -- no temporary waiting period in a lab queue.

Your Full Denture Journey at Smile Science

  1. We evaluate your bone ridge, bite, and remaining teeth. Digital X-rays and photos guide the treatment plan. If extractions are needed, Dr. Dawson handles them in-house.

    Comprehensive Exam & Planning

  2. Impressions & Shade Selection

Precise digital or traditional impressions capture your ridge anatomy. You choose a tooth shade and shape that looks natural and suits your facial structure.

  3. A wax try-in lets you preview tooth position, bite alignment, and appearance before anything is finalized. Adjustments are made chairside.

    Try-In Appointment

  4. Milling & Fabrication

Our in-house PlanMeca 60S mills your PMMA denture base directly from your digital scan. No send-out lab, no week-long wait in most cases.

  5. Dr. Turke delivers your finished denture and makes precision adjustments for comfort and bite. Most patients leave wearing their new teeth.

    Delivery & Fit Check

  6. Follow-Up & Relining

Gums change shape as healing progresses. We schedule follow-up visits to reline or adjust your denture for an optimal long-term fit.

Same-Day Dentures with In-House Milling

Most dental offices send denture cases to an external dental lab, adding days or weeks to your treatment timeline. At Smile Science, our PlanMeca 60S 5-axis wet/dry mill is on-site. Dr. Turke mills PMMA denture bases from your digital scan the same day in most cases -- giving you teeth faster without sacrificing fit or quality.

E.max and zirconia materials are available for same-day crowns used in implant-supported overdentures. Every case is designed and milled by our team, not a third-party lab.

Full Dentures -- Frequently Asked Questions

With our in-house PlanMeca mill, many full denture cases can be completed in one to two appointments. Conventional dentures require a healing period after extraction (8-12 weeks). Immediate dentures are placed the same day as extraction and refined once healing is complete.

A well-maintained full denture typically lasts 7-10 years. Relining every 2-3 years keeps the fit accurate as your bone ridge naturally changes over time.

Most patients adapt within a few weeks. There may be a brief adjustment period as your tongue and lips learn to form sounds with the new teeth in place. Reading aloud at home accelerates the process.

It is generally recommended to remove dentures at night. This gives your gum tissue a rest and reduces the risk of bone loss under the denture. Store them in water or a mild denture cleaner overnight.

Brush daily with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive cleaner. Soak overnight. Never use regular toothpaste (too abrasive) or bleach. Rinse after meals and handle over a folded towel to avoid dropping.

Bone resorption under a denture is normal. A professional reline or rebase reshapes the denture base to match your changed ridge anatomy. We provide reline services -- contact us if fit changes significantly.
